JURORS’ COMMENTS
This proposal for coastal accommodation for marine researchers explores how the passage of time may become available for architectural consideration.

The jurors were impressed with the delicate handling of materials and form within a sensitive maritime setting to produce a convincing building intended to gradually dissolve. In Joseph’s drawings a sense of the past is already implicit. This painterly quality is both melancholic and alluring.
